As a main part of the tour was about the artists Hundertwasser, and fitting end to the tour was that the boat that we toured the Danube on was also designed by the artist himself.
We saw quite a few of the main sights of Vienna, and it was nice that on such a hot day as it was, to have a bit of a breeze.
Extensive Mass Transit makes it easy to get to outer areas. The inner city is quite walkable. Take a boat excursion which is included on your Eurail pass out to Melk for a lovely day trip.
Unusual but really a good thing... take the hydrofoil boat on the river Danube to Bratislava or Budapest... it's a royal or even emperors way:-)
You can make a one day excursion and even make visits in the other countries... but inform you first for the customs and passport conditions.
Getting Informations for boatrides

As the canal's depth is considerably lower than the river the waves the boat created were high against the river's banks. Splashing the sunbathers and the ducks didn't know what had hit them. :-)
