    Next is Matthias...
    He's on VT as well.
We managed to meet when I wanted to use his toilet !
Anyway, Matthias joined Axel & me for the drive around Wienerwald & the Danube Valley...
It was a nice moment for the 3 of us, to bad that I couldn't understand them when they started to talk German...
The photo was taken in Wienerwald...

I had truly nice memories in Austria....Mostly in Vienna but the excursions that I had around Austria most of the times had friends with me.
I met many nice people in Vienna, stayed with them & this would be cherished by me forever.
Let's get to know them all, shall we ?
First, Axel...who came to fetch me from the airport; Drove me around Wienerwald & the Danube Valley....Free accomodation for me at his swanky apartment !
Also Joe, who told me a lot about Vienna & letting me use his apartment like it's mine !
Both of them are in Vienna & the photo was taken just as I arrived from the airport, we had breakfast together...

  • Durnstein from the Danube - Austria
    Durnstein from the Danube
    by Paul2001
I took a quick tour of Durnstein after my boattrip down the Danube River. It is a pretty town with a lovely Baroque church that dominates the town. The tower of the church is considered by some to be the finest Baroque structure in all of Austria. For my money, I prefer Melk but the tower is magnificent just the same. The ruined castle on the hill overlooking the town is supposedly where King Richard the Lion Hearted was held hostage by King Leopold of Austria. I sort of wish I had spent more time here and the town was quite charming.

A good map of the country is essential for finding your way around.. On this particular map I can see most of the areas I have been to.. even Leibnitz, near the southern border.

A wonderful past time can be enjoyed just by sitting in a beergarten with friends, and taking in the atmosphere. The beer is pretty darn good also.. ;-)

Austria is known for it's beautiful historical architecture. The Castles, Cathedrals, and Churches are some of my favorite buildings.

Vienna is a beautiful city, so much history, and the architecture sure is something special.
Certainly one of the most beautiful cities in the world...
Unfortunately, most of the photos of my visit here are in my memories..

Picking wildflowers in the fields, after the snow had melted..

The train trip to Vienna, and the return trip by car.. the scenery along the way was unforgettable.

Undoubtedly the Danube is one of the most famous rivers in the world, being as well known as the Amazon, Nile and Mississippi, even though only a fraction the size. The scenery along the riverbanks is green and peaceful so if you stop and take a walk "just because its there".

Walking aroung the old city you can't help but run into Mozart's house.

Mozart was born on the third floor here on January 27, 1756. As a tot, he composed some of his first musical pieces here. Can't listen to Mozart without thinking of Salzburg!

Austria has really the most beautiful nature which i saw.. The meadows in the mountains, little and bright flower , marmots.. The best is to be on the top, or near the top of mountains, and to see clouds going...
