Take a trip to the highest mountain, the Gross-glockner. You can walk down to the amazing glacier or have lots of apple strudel! The views are great, and the roads are like 'The Italian Job'. Mmm, well the Austrian food was nothing to write home about (apart from the apple strudel) but we enjoyed the pizzas and chinese! The lager was good, and because you pay in arrears, you tend to have a lot...

Visit the St. Stephen's...

Visit the St. Stephen's Cathedral...it must have been one of the most beautiful churches I've ever seen..so grandiose and full of artwork inside. Took the Metro and stopped when I see a nice building or a beautiful scenery, and hop on again when I'm done...avail of the Vienna card and travel hastle-free. I never expected Vienna to be this beautiful...wish I could have stayed longer

Sportsgastein was one of my favorite runs... it definetely had the best snow...It was a bit scary at first, because here in the US you have those bright orange nets all throughout the edges. Well, here, you don't have those bright nets, so if you go off the edge, you better make it all the way down standing up, not tumbling down..

The trails there are marked by black and yellow markers, with a sign that tells you what trail you are on. I did not see any half-pipes, and i'm not sure if they have any... most people there were skiers.. there were lots of moguls...

.. and this is those wonderful, broad, open trails...Lift tickets are very cheap, about 30 USD. Equipment rental is about the same price... All lifts close at around 4pm, 4:30pm... so you better get there early.. You can also buy a pass for a certain number of consecutive days..

People in Austria are very welcoming. If you are open for it, then you are one of them.On this picture my wife is playing the 'Teufelsgeige'. We were as guests in this hotel, didn't know anybody, but we had big party. One man was playing the zither. We danced the polonaise until 5 o'clock.
