Puncsh oh Puncsh

by dr.firas

Puncsh exists only in Germany and Austria, other countries could have a simmilar great alcholic drink, but for sure not the same name and the same taste, the wonderful thing is that it is a season drink, you can only have it at Christmas time, and not all are good, better to search for the good shops well reputated!and you will easily fall in love with it, but take care, it is strong one, sweet and hot, and you will be drunk from the second cup!here you can see mine Blue and Angelika's Red LOL

Christmas giant tree ;-D

by dr.firas

This was one of the many Christmas trees in Vienna, but I liked it more than all the rest, it is huge, and nice with the lights, I don't know if it will remain with no decoration or it will come later, but it was really wonderful to enjoy watching it!

Tip Photo
St.Nicolas

by dr.firas

St.Nicolas is the substitute of Santa, in Germany and Austria this is the personage!did you know from where comes the tradition that Santa is having the red and white famous coat!I was surrprised to know, well it supposed to be an advertisment for Coca Cola, and accorded to the colors of this lable, LOLyes it is true, before it, Santa was wearing white coat!

Chocolate tale

by dr.firas

Who of us doesn't know the famous tale of the little 2 kids, brother and sister who has been lost in the forest and saw the house of chocolate and cookies and started eating it, and it was a trap from the old witch, who wanted to bake the boy, but his smart sister got rid of her by kicking her on the oven!now you can enjoy the tale in reality and taste the house of that witch without taking the risk LOL

Tip Photo
Mozartkugeln

by Leipzig

All over the city you find small stores selling "Mozartkugeln". This local sweat is dedicated to Salzburg's most known inhabitant - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. These small pralines are filled with different tastes of cream or nougat. Ideal souvenir and thickening for the beloved at home :-D

PRECIOUS GOLDEN DRINK WITH A SNOW-WHITE COLLAR....

by eden_teuling

Yes, here it comes: how impatient can one be waiting for the waiter/waitress with the refreshing beer. Before you enjoy the drink : it is a pleasure to watch the glass, nice froth on top, air bubbles rising from the bottom to the top of the glass to find a way out through the tentalizingly frothy gold to boisterously explode then. Then the first gulp : all these bubbles, which smell surprisingly good, tickling your lips and cheeks, even your nose. What is better than a glass of cool beer, stout, ale, bier, cerveza, birra, bi?re ? And isn't the second before you take your first draught like the seconds before a kiss with a loved one??

WHEN IN VIENNA......

by eden_teuling

When in Vienna you should visit the ?STERREICHISCHEGALERIE , where I was taken in by this breathtakingly beautiful painting. The artist is a woman named : Maria Egner , who lived from 1850 - 1940 She gave her painting the name : In der Pergola and she made it in 1913.And this Museum has soooo many overwhelmingly attractive works of Art.......

Visiting Christian Churches

by aliante1981

Christian churches - be they Protestant, Orthodox, or Catholic - are a vital part of Europeýs cultural, artistic, architectural, and religious heritage, and as such you are likely (and I really recommend doing this:)) ) to visit many of them. However, most of them are even today not only major tourist attractions, but also religious sites where people come to pray. This is something to be respected, and here are several pieces of advice I would like to give that might help avoid ill-feeling:- Dress modestly, covering shoulders and most part of the legs (women in Orthodox churches might be requested to put on something to cover the head);- Do not speak loudly - all the descriptions are better either read in silence or given outside;- Try not to walk too much during the service;- Avoid using flash in your camera near people you see praying;- Respect notes that forbid entrance to some parts...

Surprise birthday for Martin

by Martin_S.

Well I know that as a parent there are times when you ask yourself "why in the world did I have children" ^O^. But then there are the more numerous times when your child makes you think "why don't I have more children like her/him. Well, while we were visiting friends in Austria, Tal, our 14 year old daughter, surprised me by coming into our room and saying happy birthday, and handing me a package. When she had found time and money to purchase me a good bottle of California wine, a card and a chocolate bar with "Happy Birthday printed on it, I will never know, but it was a surprise and I can only wish on everone a daughter like we have, even when I am mad at her I love her to pieces...

Tip Photo
PROST!

by rui_bijie

Before you start drinking (usually just alcoholic drinks) you say "Prost" ("cheers"), glasses clicking. That's not enough! ALWAYS look into each other's eyes when saying "Prost"! It's very impolite in Austria when not doing so.
