 | Austria Nightlife | Tips 31 - 40 of 77 | | Definitely the best nightlife you will have in Vienna. There are some cool places in Graz and Salzburg and then in the tourist centers like Kitzbuehl, Velden, Poertschach etc. yet, the real club scene does only exist in the capital. There are plenty of bars and pubs, yet people start going out in a very early age in Austria and you should not be surprised finding a 15-year-old guy spilling a few beers down next to you - if you choose the wrong place. Downtown Vienna (1st district also called Stadt or Erster) is the place where most people go out since there are plenty of bars and pubs. You will find the better places though perhaps spread over the rest of the city. Teenagers prefer downtown since it's easy to reach by subway or bus. There are few good American bars in town, but the actual 'coolness'factor of those places changes almost on a monthly basis. Therefore, I don't wanna recommend any in particular. You can always ask people on the street that look like people you want to encounter in a bar. Clubs are not really permanent in Vienna. There are a few places that have been there for many years and are still considered as places to be. Such are 'Volksgarten', 'Montevideo', 'Take Five' or 'Titanic'. These are the exception. All other places come and go. There are a lot of Teenager clubs for 14 - 19 year old, you don't wanna go there. There is something like a Clubbing Scene in Vienna, which is nothing else than parties in different locations. These locations are usually historical places such as museums, palaces, hotels or even Heurigen. Those locations change all the time and if there was a party in a place last week it does not mean its there this week as well. Ask somebody about this week's clubbing. It's usually crowded and not always easy to get in. New is the so-called After-work-clubbing, where people go straight after work at 6 or 7 PM, have a few drinks, dance and party until midnight or 2 AM. Also these places change location pretty often though
If you follow the clubbing scene, dress cool, unique, classic, fashionable, and sexy. You wear T-shirt and sneakers, forget about the scene and stay home. At clubbings you will find people of a wide range of age. I'd say between 18 and 40 is normal. If it's an opening or a real cool place even older celebrities. It's usually very hot at those places and sometimes there is just no space to dance since its too crowded. Its more like a be there place. It gets better after like 3 AM when first people start to leave. - Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Here are some locations you shouldn't miss out: -FLEX: It's a club near the Danube river. They've got some tables in front of the club and a half-pipe for skaters. In the summertime people of almost every age sit, talk and chill outside the club. In the winter the club is usually quite crowded. They're playing cool music from Ragga to Techno and on some days there are alternative music parties. Each time I go there I meet new people from all over the world. From Spain, Britain, France and Africa just to name some.
There's no real dress code there. People just put on what they feel like...You meet people from the gothic scene aswell as 'jeans-and-t-shirt'-people. Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicDirections: With the underground (U2 or U4) to 'Schottenring'. There are stairs leading down to the riverside. The club is on the left side and you won't fail it-there's allways someone standing in front of it!

If you are lodging in Galtür you definitely have to go to Ischgl for nightlife (about 5km) from Galtür. There you'll find nightlife more than you can bear! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

There's plenty to do, at night in Vienna, an evening performance at the Opera House, will be something to remember for a lifetime. There are also techno music bars and discos to go to, or if no money, you can always enjoy the free music at the parks. Vienna is an expensive city, you have to bring plenty of dollars, pesos or whatever, although they prefer schillings, dollars and euros. The quality of life is high and very elegant.
You must dress up on your best finery to go the Opera House for a performance, but in general people are tolerant especially in the summer, when it could get really hot. Leave a Comment Theme: Concert

There are a lot of comfortable pubs in all towns, and discos outside. It also depends on where you are. In Upper Austria there are breweries even in tiny places where you get excellent beer. In Lower Austria they got a lot of wineries (where you get excellent wine very cheap). I myself love the austrian brands of beer. I never got anything that good abroad.
In most places jeans and sneakers are fine. I know just a few exclusive places where it is not like this. Theme: Eating and Drinking

It always depends on what you are looking for... If you like bars and this stuff then you are right in the first district of Vienna. There are also really nice coffeeshops. Just watch the movie 'Before Sunrise' and you know how it looks like. You can also go to this coffee shops at night time and drink a glas of vine. In my opinion for dancing the best place is the WUK in Vienna. It's multiple functions building. There are also exhibitions and other things in there. On weekends there is also a club. Go to be at the 'H.A.P.P.Y.'(this is very very cool)! go to the nice coffeeshops. The smaller the better. I think they are unique over here. We also say that there is a coffeeshop-tradition. We have at least 10 kinds of different coffees you can order and all of them taste very good.
All in all there are no dresscodes, except you wanna go to a really special bar, disco or club for the high society. But I don't like the snobby area and so I don't care about my dress code. Theme: Live MusicDirections: Vienna: bars in the first districtOther Contact: www.wuk.at/happy/

The Limo in St. Gallenkirch, Galgenul Well, it has it's qualities, but there's no one there to see them! When we went there, the place was almost empty! And that's a pity since the entourage is nice (it seems like a little village, with different floors and and etc.) and the music good.
No code, but they have a sort of credit card that you get at the door. You have to drink one drink at least and pay for it with the card. At the end you give back the card and then pay for everything you drank. So they have a bar at the exit, that you can't run away! Leave a Comment Theme: DancingDirections: At the parkinglot in St. Gallenkirch, Galgenul. You can't miss it, there's a huge sign with 'famous from the Guiness book of records' on it.
