Laidback...

by coceng

I find the nightlife at least in Vienna is laidback, more quiet, than boom boom boom !...You know what I mean.I prefer this immensely...I prefer the quiet way of going out after all I don't always eager to dance to the loud out music...Maybe I didn't go to the right club...but then I certainly didn't ask any of the guys that I went out with to show me one !Oh btw, I did go to this cellar....but that's another story of course !Sorry, no sharing of story here....To me at least, the night time in Vienna was spent seeing the good old sights, as if not enough seeing them during the day, we want to see them at night also...

A HEURIGER: Vienna Woods

by Rhondaj

An Austrian wine restaurant in the Vienna Woods can't be missed! It only takes about 45 min. to get to one of these small towns up in the woods of Vienna.Heuriger refers to the "new wine" taverns that produce their own wine and it also refers to the new wine itself which is sold from 11 November (St Martin's Day) to 31 December of the following year. Wine-makers have had the right to have their own wine taverns since 795 AD, although not made official until Emperor Josef II came along and passed an ordinance in 1784.To keep from getting too intoxicated, Heurigens offer buffet style food service. (Make sure to have some Kummelbraten.)The seating is generally large picnic tables. casual

old town: charmig Graz

by johe

Graz - the old city is very alive during summer nights, free concerts, live music, jazz, and clasic, in every corner, starting at about 7p.m till late, lot of coffee shops, resturants all over, people sit, drink and watch. this is a must town.

?: Night time sledding

by andreaarp

At night you could rent tabogans and sled down lit up sledding runs. They were about a mile long each. When we were there in January there wasn't enough snow to go but it looked like fun. As far as bars or clubs there were none. This was not a place to go if you wanted to party. Strictly skiing. REALLY warm clothes at night. I was cold during the day so at night I can't even imagine how cold sledding could get.

Staatsoper (State Opera House)

by keeweechic

Staatsoper (State Opera House) Vienna. For many people this is the best opera house in the world. If you want tickets to a performance while there, you need to book in advance. I was there in the height of Summer and unfortunately there were no performances, so check ahead.

Vienna has a wonderful...

by kucha

Vienna has a wonderful collection of great pubs, loaded with atmosphere. Moreover, the Viennese are friendly and easy to meet -- especially if you speak a little German. My favorite pub was the Zwolf Apostle Keller (Cellar of the 12 Apostles). It is a small pub with a medieval character. You go down a stone staircase to reach the pub -- there is actually a grate to which you can look up to the street above.

by RWRocks

O'Malleys in Salzburg - lots of expat's if you are in to that - sort of hard to dodge non-Austrians when you are in Salzburg in the summer - good beer. Right on the river. There are a number of good bars along the river in Salzburg - just walk along and find one that you like! pretty much isn't one.

You can dress you feel like!

by jujub

Central Park is a big club with a game room (pool tables, arcade, darts, etc). There is a small cover charge. It is near the waterfall..There is also Gatz, which is much smaller than Central Park, but more lively. Gatz is near the Silver Bullet. It's in the hill..Here is a picture of the waterfall, different angle..
