After a long day of...

by jujub

After a long day of skiing/boarding, stop by Silver Bullet, a bar with live music and native indian decoration. The band (i think their name is Power Unit) plays mostly rock, with some german songs. Sometimes at the end, the waiters will sing a song or two. They also serve food upstairs. If you are under 21, guess what, they don't care! Actually, most places don't care, I've even seen parents with their toddlers hanging around upstairs. They also serve soft drinks (hehhehhe). A lot of people there come wearing their ski clothes, so no need to change.

by myszka81

If you go to Graz, there's this cool little salsa bar called Andino. They have live music just about every night, (it's quite good), and also the people in the band are quite nice. They even invited an acquaintance of mine to join them on stage and play the bongos!

by VincenZzo

Kitzbühel is a really small resort town. There's not much of nightlife there. The main places are at the ski hills where you get 'après-ski' bar and pub... wich are really good. There's two of them also in the middle of the small town where you can listen to old crapy americans 80' music, and the party don't goes for as long as were used too, mainly because the majority of people are there to do some sports... still all the ski monitor and staff of the mountains are partying very well!!

by Rastagirl

Here are some locations you shouldn't miss out:-FLEX: It's a club near the Danube river. They've got some tables in front of the club and a half-pipe for skaters. In the summertime people of almost every age sit, talk and chill outside the club. In the winter the club is usually quite crowded. They're playing cool music from Ragga to Techno and on some days there are alternative music parties. Each time I go there I meet new people from all over the world. From Spain, Britain, France and Africa just to name some. There's no real dress code there. People just put on what they feel like...You meet people from the gothic scene aswell as 'jeans-and-t-shirt'-people.

by Dom_W

Sheffau only has one pub, but that's not such a bad thing. It just means everybody goes there so the place is always good fun.If you get drunk enough and sing alot the owner will reward you with schnaps. I sung my heart out!!! Just leave your ski's outside. Anything goes.

by Beefy_SAFC

Away from the main towns, forget it, it's all sleepy and people tend head for home about 10.00 p.m. Nightclubs are virtually non existant away from the towns. Everything is based around food and beer. Enjoy the beer and schnaps, though. One thing that left me bewildered was I found bars right out in the middle of nowhere, at least two hours walk away from anwhere - and these places were (on the whole) busy.* Picture: Big hairy thing near Grossglockner.Beefy at http://www.geocities.com/beefnetuk

Austrian places are not known for their sparkling nightlife. Even Vienna and the province capitals are compared to Amsterdam realy slow on nightlife.I am sure there are places. But I would not know... Opera in Vienna: Tenue de ville or black tie.

by daBertl

Definitely the best nightlife you will have in Vienna. There are some cool places in Graz and Salzburg and then in the tourist centers like Kitzbuehl, Velden, Poertschach etc. yet, the real club scene does only exist in the capital. There are plenty of bars and pubs, yet people start going out in a very early age in Austria and you should not be surprised finding a 15-year-old guy spilling a few beers down next to you - if you choose the wrong place. Downtown Vienna (1st district also called Stadt or Erster) is the place where most people go out since there are plenty of bars and pubs. You will find the better places though perhaps spread over the rest of the city. Teenagers prefer downtown since it's easy to reach by subway or bus. There are few good American bars in town, but the actual 'coolness'factor of those places changes almost on a monthly basis. Therefore, I don't wanna...
