The US Army Shop is not as it seems for weapons and so, but it is full of great collection of clothes and shoes and boots coming from USA and UK!

whenever you pass by a post-office in Austria - simply have a look for "Sondermarken" - it means stamps for special events/monuments etc.

The first time I visited Austria (in the late 1980s) I found it terribly expensive. The next time (maybe ten years later) I found it less so - probably because of inflation in UK. The next again time I found food prices had come down because Austria had, by then joined the European Union.
Unless you want to pay over the odds for things avoid the tourist shops and head for the shopping areas where the local people shop. Not only does that tend to give you better value for money, it also helps give a flavour of life in Austria.
