    Belorussian stray dog

Local dogs seem to have the custom of wandering into railway stations to beg food from stranded visaless tourists. This one said his name was Hannes. He would eat anything my fellow (human) travellers threw him, like cheese and dry bread, and he crawled under the benches to find potato chips! Poor guy, he must have been hungry! But he looked amazingly well fed. Maybe a lot of humans try travelling into Belarus without visa?

This man asked us to help him open his vodka bottle. It seems wise to carry one, since Belarus might be very cold during the winter. (At first I thought he wanted to steel our knife ;-) Some of my travelling companions took after him, which you can see on the other pictures.
