The Military Cemetery at its present location exists since 1895. It consists of several sections for the dead soldiers of different wars, like the Russo Turkish War (1877 to 1878) or the Great Patriotic War (WWII).
Besides the military graves and memorials, also the graves of some prominent local people can be found here. Among them is the grave of the Belarusian poet Yanka Kupala, who mysteriously died in a hotel in Moscow in 1942.
Directions:
The Military Cemetery is situated about 2,5 km east of the city centre; between the streets ul. Kozlova and ul. Krsnozvednaya. The area is served by several trams (e.g. #06).
