Chapel is located to the East of the Mir castle in the Landscape Park. It was built in 1904 by architect from St. Petersburg Marfeld. Central square in Mir is like old town square. It is surrounded by 1-2 floor houses built in "old" style, looking pretty nice and colourful. They are renowed. Small city of Mir is famous because its castle complex, that was inscribed into UNESCO World Heritage list in the year 2000. One criterion, why it was made is the mix of three architectural styles of castle - Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. All these styles represent historical changes of Mir and fits well to architecture of castle. It is said, that Mir castle is one of the best examples of Central European castles.
The is the black side of castle reconstruction: some days ago on one TV program it was shown, that there is underground garage under some part of castle. What is more, there is a modern lift added in one tower of castle. I think it is remain from Soviet Union times.
