The best way to get around Gomel is by bus and trolleybus, and the best way to do this is to buy a travelcard for just a few dollars, the buses are fast and frequent, albeit a little crowded, but even in the rush hour its not too bad.

For good value and well varied shopping, try the three markets around Gomel, you can buy just about anything at them and they are extremely cheap compared to western europe.
What to buy: Just about anything from fresh food to clothes to housewares and on and on and on.
What to pay: Not a lot compared to western europe.
