In Groenplaats, Antwerp by Norali You will likely need raincoat and umbrellas in rainy Belgium. Yet, I admit that an umbrella is encumbering while walking through Brussels streets, trying to arrange snapshots with telelens... I prefer then the water-repellant hat and the raincoat.
Depending on your type of activities (posh resturant or walking, backpacking), you may need classy dress and suits since some restaurants are not casual wear-friendly. For walking, your walking shoes. As in many European cities, avoid stilletos: charming cobbled streets, to start with on Brussels Grand-Place, in Antwerp streets, in Mons streets.. everywhere.
No malaria here :) Just bring prescriptions for sensitive stuffs.
You may need telelens.. Hmm, classical photo freaks would be delighted walking here. Be it in urban areas, making snapshots of birds, flowers in nature reserves. Alternative photo freaks would be pleased immortalizing unusual scenes encountered here and there. Esp. if you come from Asia, bring photo equipment from there, it's usually cheaper from where you are.
Belgium has a coast.. yes, but the chilly waters are not my fave. In case you are tempted to bath, you may always buy your swimwear here. Better travel light, anyways. In the contrary, bear in mind that in September, the weather can already be chilly. So in September, plan to bring/ buy a parka and a jumper.
More than ever, open mind. Belgium, Belgians and Belgian cities are unique. They would be yours if you take time to understand, discover. Their charms lie in the small things too, in the details. NB: Since you are likely to bring stuffs home (gifts, chocolate, beer, speculoos, jenever, clothes.. hmmm...Belgian design), you'd better leave some place for those. Leave a Comment

by Mahieu It rains quiet often in Belgium. Mostly it's not pouring down, but just a few drops. But of course just a few drops, during a whole day can get you pretty wet! So, don't forget your umbrella or raincoat. In case you forgot it, don't worry, they are for sale in every big city! Leave a Comment

Heavy rain ? by Muya Unfortunately, you can never trust the weather in Belgium, so you'd better take rain clothes and a good umbrella with you if you don't want to end up like me on the picture... :-) Leave a Comment

Always take your umbrella with you when going out: typical Belgian weather is something like 10 min. sunshine, 30 min. raining, windy and cloudy, sunshine again.... We may experience all 4 seasons in less than 24 hrs.

by Helga67 In Summer bring lightweight, comfortable clothes, sweater or jacket for evenings. During the Winter warm clothes, rain coat and umbrella are a must. Leave a Comment

Sometimes it rains in....Blankenberge by Sjalen It rains a lot in Belgium all year round so rain gear is a must. Umbrella will work inland where it is less windy but along the coast and in Bruges I would take a rain jacket with a hood. Proper shoes with that of course.
Belgium has a couple of thousand more pharmacies than it needs population wise, so you will find it all here. There are no mosquitos (apart from in canal hotels in Brugge) and other pests either so no, just your usual stuff in the hygiene bag I suppose.
I find photo stuff slightly more expensive here than in both UK and Sweden to name a couple of places, so you might want to bring film and develop it at home. Having said that, there are cheaper developing offers in the huge supermarkets than in the city centre, if you stay for a longer time and can wait.
Belgium is full of camp sites. The coast quickly fills up during the summer months but inland Flanders is also nice and there are some great campsites in the wilder Ardennes.
A good beer head :-) Leave a Comment

Bring an umbrella, you have a big chance that it will rain when you stay a longer period. When you only stay for 2 days or so, you could miss the rain, so that's ok :). Leave a Comment

by Silverstar Depends on the time of your travel. In summer it's about 17°-20° Celsius and in winter for about 0°-5° Celsius. But it's surely rainy in Belgium. Maybe it's a good tip to be always prepared on that. Leave a Comment
