We all had fish, and though the slices of fish were small, it was tasty and... not pricey. The service was kind, quick, and generally it was considered positive by everybody, without any special mention.
One of the most known restaurants in the centre of Charleroi. The kitchen is based on Belgian specialties. The food is tasty and portions are ok. Friendly service and average price.
Favorite Dish: I liked the desert "crème de spéculoos".
The grilled steak is tasty too.
Ok, you might wonder why I put some "French fries" place under a restaurant tip. Simply, because "Robert la Frite", is a monument, it's an institute! Every self-respecting inhabitant of Charleroi knows this place and if you happen to be in Charleroi, then you can't miss out on the French fries here!
This is actually the ritual of every young person during the weekend: after a night out, before going to bed, stop by Robert la Frite!
Great interior, you immediately feel like you're in Turkish atmospheres. Especially, the cosy corner above, next to the toilets!
The food is delicious and the waiter was very friendly to us.
Favorite Dish: I had gambas with lemon as a starter and a Turkish dish with an unprounceable name as a main course. It was a kind of meatballs with onions, peppers and spices. Very yummie!
It's on the square directly opposite the Beaux arts, it's a kebab shop really, nothing amazing at all, but I get my dinner there every night. What's the name of it? CHEZ RAOUL
Friendly staff. They are all Turkish. See photo!
Favorite Dish: Frites, with millions of different types of sauce. I recommend the Cocktail, or the Andalouse. Or a Mitraillette de Dinde, which is like a baguette stuffed with chips and turkey and whatever sauce you want (get mayo, even though it looks like, well, cum). Friends have told me, though, that cats disappear around the doors of this place so do not ask whether it really is turkey.
As we know, beers have a great position in Charleroi. It’s not a coincidence if you can find many bars. The most particular and pleasant are “l’Impasse”, “la Cour des Miracles” where the cocktails are fabulous, “le Corto” which are situated in a cellar and “l’Irish Pub” which is a veritable Irelands pub. There, you can taste all the Belgian’s beers, the specialities .The atmosphere of these pubs are friendly, cool and cordial
If you like Asian food, well this is the place to be.
Favorite Dish: Sliced chicken with chinese mushrooms,
and Prawns with bambou and mushrooms, yum i love that.
