    Inexpensive Car Park at Brussels South Airport

    by shavy Updated Nov 23, 2014

    We fly very often in this airport and we mostly take an early flight and the easiest way to get here is by car. Parking at the airport itself is way too expensive!

    Car park at the airport in Charleroi it cost more than the flight you pay for Ryan air. If you are away for a few days the airport parking it cost you a fortune

    Recently many of the residents in the area opened more and more parking lot, they use their hangar space for car park and it is a pretty good business anyway

    Brussels South Airport is mostly used by the low cost aircraft "Ryan air" and some of neighboring countries are flying from here. Brussels South offer more destination around Europe for inexpensive flight with Ryan air

    Holland's, France, Luxembourg even German comes this way with their car to fly with Ryan air. Because of so many choices of destination!

    The airport received many complaints lately due to have an expensive parking, but they did not do anything about. Still passengers are patiently used expensive parking at the airport

    So, many people in the areas are competing their parking business lately. Which is good and cheap parking in Brussels South Airport.

    Most of the cheap parking is not very close to the airport and mostly is about 10 minutes away. But they offer is a free shuttle service. Be sure to have plenty of time before your flights departure

    Park your car in one of inexpensive car park in Brussels South is the easiest way for you. You are at ease going on holiday without thinking when you coming back that the expensive parking waiting for you

    This parking has a fixed price of (64 euro) for a week and free shuttle to and from the airport is about 10 minutes from Charleroi airport.

    Is well good organized parking and very secure! Booking in advance is needed!

    When you arrive at this parking, you will have to handle your car key. They will move your vehicle from one place to another to make space for other cars.

    Once you arrive, give your reservation paper to one of the staff, and you may check your car with him if there is no scratch or damage

    They do like this because the staff will move your vehicle while you are gone, and for sure no complain afterwards, and you will receive a copy to that paper if everything okay after you signing

    We were very satisfied with the service and they are open 24/7 days a week. But the problem with the staff is only French speaking.

    Well, maybe a very,very little English or very little Flemish but the most part in this area locals are only French speaking. This is Wallonia region in Belgium and people here were very poor with English that is the problem.

    Shuttle service to and from the airport Secure parking

    Brussels South Charleroi Airport

    by shavy Written Nov 23, 2014

    This is the second busiest airport in Belgium where mostly used by low cost airlines.The airport can be reached by car, train or bus they also receive many passengers from Netherlands and northern France

    The airport is very easy to reach thanks to the excellent road and public transport network

    The airport is a gateway to many European destination, Ryanair is a carrier who does has plenty of flights daily.

    Another low cost aircraft is Wizzair, the two low cost airline has many European destination, this airport is very busy all year round.

    Jetairfly is another big Belgian company who used this airport for holiday package around Europe

    Recently the airport is more and more easy to reach by public transport, but still plenty of the passengers coming with a car especially to those who catch the early flight.

    Car park in the airport itself is very expensive, many passengers from Holland and France or Luxembourg coming with their car and leave in the parking inside the airport which cost a fortune.

    In the recent years many people in the area open a cheap parking where we can left our car and this is cheaper than leaving in front of the airport building

    Have a look to my "inexpensive car park page" in Brussels South, where you can park your car for less and there is a shuttle available to and from the parking lot

    The airport is very small. But the facilities are the same as the big one. If you have a flight arrive to this airport you will have everything you need.

    At the arrival area there are tourist information, money changer, ATM machines, car rentals, left luggage area

    Outside the arrival there were public transportation where you can take if you are heading to Brussels, Ghent and Bruges city. Flying to this airport is now much easier especially if you doesn't want to pay a lot of money to those big name airlines

    Brussels South Airport in Charleroi are growing in the recent years, thanks to the low cost airline of Ryan air which has made this airport the second busiest airport in Belgium.

    Departing to this airport is a lot easier, you'll find your way around. The airport has a big duty free shop and restaurants after you go through the passport and luggage control

    The airport open 24 hours, you can stay during night time if you have to catch the early flight or if you doesn't want to pay an expensive room hotel. But it would not be a comfortable place to stay whole night

    * * PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE AUTOCARS L'ELAN * *

    I booked a bus ticket to leave from Maastricht (NL) Trainstation at 02:10a.m.to Charleroi Airport and these are the facts;

    1 - The van without any logo (and not an expected BUS) came just at 03:30am;
    2 - The van did not stop in the expected spot as shown in your ticket;
    3 - The van did not drive around to see if someone was waiting;
    4 - The "extreme urgence" phone numer (as they call) did not answer my attempts;
    5 - I was forced to pick a taxi and pay -EUR140;
    6 - I made a claim and exposed all the facts including the taxi repceit;
    7 - They refuse to refund me and I am still fighitng for this right!

    P.S.: Because I booked a return ticket I needed to use that service again from the airport to Maastricht. I was almost loosing the journey again because I did not recognize the van and already inside, they departed before the time! THIS SERVICE IS COMPLETELY AMATEUR!!!

  • AVOID Airportways Shuttle

    by 1pja Updated Aug 15, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Avoid Airportways Shuttle Service at all cost. I have used them three times, and never ever again! The first time the van was old, dirty and rattled so loudly we could hardly hear each other speak. The second the driver got lost in country lanes, where he should never have been in the first place, and the third time they had still not shown up to pick us up 40 mins after the due time, and we had to take a taxi at considerable expense. Worst of all, their London office completely ignored our letter of complaint and our demand for a refund for the service we never received. They are totally unprofessional and untrustworthy. They don't deserve to be in business.

  • Airportways from Charleroi to Bruxelles

    by pelatipg Updated Jun 15, 2011

    Absolutely do not trust Airportways shuttle company.
    They are not serious
    You pay in advance and they forget to pick you up (I had to get a taxi after 25 minutes waiting);
    when you ask the refund, they forget you again.
    pj

    Non fidatevi di Airportways shuttle company - é un bidone !
    Ho pagato in anticipo per 6 persone e hanno dimenticato di venirmi a prendere - Ho atteso 25 minuti e poi sono stato costretto a prendere un taxi.
    Quando ho chiesto il rimborso (dopo aver documentato le mie telefonate fatte inutilmente all'autista) non hanno neanche risposto.

    From Charleroi Airport to Brussels

    by Mahieu Updated Dec 26, 2010

    4 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Charleroi Airport is also called Brussels South. Be careful because Brussels is actually about 65 km away from the airport.

    To get to Brussels, 3 options:

    1/ Take the public bus A to Charleroi train station (in the city centre) which costs 2,50€ and from there take a train to Brussels, which costs about 7,50€ one way.
    If you want to go to another city (Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, ...) it's cheaper to buy a combined train-bus ticket at the Press Shop at the airport
    2/ Take the direct shuttle bus from the airport to Brussels Midi Station. Cost: 13 euro one way or 22 euro return ticket. The bus leaves 20 times a day, +/- every 45 min.

    3/ Take a taxi, which costs +/- 120 euro.

    by fiala81 Updated Oct 12, 2010

    DO NOT USE CHARLEROITRANSFER: sometimes they do not pick you up and they do not return the money (although it is their fault!!).

    I had the same problem as others:

    they called me 10 minutes before the pick up and told me that the car had broken down. AS I was in a hurry, I had to pay 115€ to go to Charleroi by taxi and they gave me no refund of the transfer I had already paid.

    They have the worst service ever!! be careful!

    I travelled with L'elan from Charleroi airport to Valenciennes. We came late in the evening, we booked a bus at 10.40 pm. The driver that came didn't speak english, he asked only if we were going to Valenciennes, we confirmed. We were almost sleeping in the car, after more than 1 hour he stopped in front of the railway station, then turned back and left us just in front of some hotel. It was already after midnight, nobody in the street. When he went away we understood that he left us in the wrong city!!! We entered the hotel and asked for help, we were 40 km away from Valenciennes! The receptionist called the L'elan, and they answered that the driver will come back soon. And we were waiting like 30 min more, then he came and took us finally to Valenciennes. I have no idea what he thought but I was furious, and couldn't even talk to him; Be careful with L'elan buses!!!!
