In the eldest part of the old city in Liège, you can find this beautiful old-fashioned Café-Chantant in an ancient house. Here does everybody sing the song of his old french chanson hero. Here the 1950s are not over yet. This is Europe like it was in the old days.
It is not a karaoke bar. If you want to sing, there is a pianist (big moustache, black suspenders) playing the music for you.
It is open till very late and you can drink of course good Belgian beer.
Dress Code: Be dressed.
If you want to taste Belgium, but you are not a beer drinker, or you want something else for a drink, la Maison du Peket is a paradise.
Situated near the Place Saint Lambert, it is in the heart of the old city of Liège.
You can get beer, but only to accompagny them with the 'peket' , a local liquor which is like a dutch 'jenever'or a german 'schnapps'. They have them in all kinds.
I liked the Peket Charlemagne the most, my girlfriend digged the Peket Framboise.
The entire downtown area. Its what Burbon street in New Orleans should be. Clean with tons of bars with every type of Beer known to man and polite well dressed people. I dont know why it not famous.
Dress Code: Every on was dressed well
