A couple of kilometers from Stavelot, you can also admire the "famous" Coo Waterfalls. They are indeed the highest belgian waterfalls, 13meters !!!
They are artificial but don't have any specific purpose except modifying the river flow.
This could lead to some confusion with the nearby hydroelectric example. Indde water is being pumped during the night from the Ambleve river to one of the upper aritificial lake and when there is a strong electricity demand during the day, this water is then released to create electricity.

The remainings of this abbey founded in the 7th century by St Remacle are probably the main tourist attraction of the town.
What's left from the church is this door from the16th century and a couple of ruins.
However you could imagine how big and impressive the church should have been!

The abbey buildings have recently been renovated and are now sheltering three different museums. One of them is dedicated to the History of the nearby F1 circuit.
