After surfing at the Radhadesh website I made sure that if I ever go to Durbuy, I will have lunch at their restaurant. I have always been fascinated by the Indian cuisine but could not afford to eat often in Indian restaurants nearby because they cost a lot. Arriving at Radhadesh, the first thing that I saw was the impressive restaurant that I saw at the website. Pandu, one of the residents of the place told us about the delicious meals that they serve in their restaurant. He also told me that for just €5 per person, we could eat at the tent behind the castle together with the other residents of Radhadesh and eat what is being served to them. THAT WAS QUITE INTERESTING. However, being new to the place and having a full-blooded carnivorous teenager as my meal companion, I chose the restaurant for the variety of choices. It is a self-service restaurant. They have a variety of drinks and foods to choose from...except meat. The lady who served us spoke French, Dutch and English so, there was really no language barrier. Lunch was served in a metal tray with different compartments for different dishes. The portions were reasonable, BUT YOU CAN ALWAYS COME BACK AND ASK FOR SOME MORE if you want to eat more. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT!
My favorite dish is the one that was offered that day. I have no idea what it was. I kept on asking (several times) the lady what the names of the foods were but I kept on forgetting what they were. The names were a bit exotic and my polyester brains doesn't seem to catch up on anything that day. However, there was this delicious spinach/potato soup (my son ate my portion), a pasta salad, a crisp of some sort, fried breaded aubergine with tangy chutney, baked cauliflower with a difference, etc. Just look at the picture on the side of this tip. (This meal costs €11) My son just ate my soup and a large fries with curry-mayonaise. There are no small fries...just large ones, and according to my son, it was delicious too! (This large fries costs €2 including mayonaise) SQUARE PETIT FOURS: This was the dessert that I took with my coffee, and gosh, it took me to the seventh heaven! The lady suggested my son to take the sesame flavoured one and I took the saffran flavoured. Both of them were truly delicious. Just don't leave the place without buying one. (These delicious desserts cost €1.50 each, but taste remains in your mind forever!) Drinks: I took canned organic cranberry juice for lunch My son drank Caffeine free light Coke I took filtered coffee with the pastries and my son didn't. One thing special about it is that it was the only place other than mainly takeaway fast food joints to eat in Barveau. Another is that as Barveau is not widely proclaimed as a tourist town - although all the hotel accommodation was full - there is a 'come and enjoy it or don't bother' air to the place that I liked.
I have only eaten there once - on my own - so stating a favourite is a bit presumptious. However the cheapest menu consisted of local items and was delicious [local cured ham with melon, a magnificent trout and some Belgian cheeses.] Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterAddress: en Charotte 33Phone: 086-211537Directions: near road to Durbuy

A terrace with a view by Pavlik_NL Along the bank of the Outhe-river in the shade of the castle are a few very good restaurnats with inviting terraces. A little further into the little town there is a wide range in restaurants, bistro's, lunchrooms and cafe's all serving tasteful dinners and menu's. With the view that most of them offer, the deliscious food only can taste even better. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalComparison: more expensive than average
