Along the rover are many

Along the river Meuse are terraces that are strangly enough seperated from the restaurants by a rather busy road. The waiters and waitresses have to regularly sprint to bring you the dishes and drinks you ordered, but ... the setting is just great. The restaurants front entrances are on the upperstreet (that runs away from the Collegial Our Dear Lady. The terraces are - as said on the riverside, one store lower.

Le Roi de Moules served a wonderful vairety on dishes based on clams (mosselen). This rather (Zeeuws) Flandres tradition has found it's way to Wallonia already decades ago. So order a dish here that is in the list of "Moules-menu's" and enjoy the Bourgondian lifestyle again that Belgium is so well-known for.

Restaurant La Citadelle is the perfect place if you want to taste the local sweet: couque. It is a biscuit with a honey-sweetened flavor that is impressed with a carved wooden mold before baking.
In the restaurant is also possible to have supper and dinner.

Being a popular place with tourists, Dinant has a good choice of restaurants to choose from. We opted for Brasserie Grégoire, which is very centrically located on Queen Astrid Square, in the shadow of the Collegiate Church. It is a family-run kind of place, with simple decoration and home-made Belgian specialities in the menu that you can accompany with French and Italian wine.

Américain preparé, of course!

It is situated in front of the church and opposite the bridge.

Wonderfull mix of Tunisian and French cuisine. Very curteous staff and reasonable prices. Really enyojed their Lamb in the Port wine sauce.

Well, in my hotel tip I said this is a restaurant with a hotel attached and, as we were staying there we thought we ought to try the food!
Good choice.
Must have known I was coming, the special was a 3 course menu all cooked with beer! start with croquettes with Maredesous sauce - delicious, next pork cooked in beer (forget which) then cassis icecream. all superb!
The menu was in French and our limited ability could find nothing for the vegetarian Mrs Bonio, no problem, a goats cheese salad was greatly enjoyed, followed by a raspberry sorbet. Cost with wine too was not too expensive, memorable meal.

Excellent food and impeccable service. A resident cat which doesn't even make its presence known though there is a sign outside if i am not wrong to remind you not to pat it in case you see it as it can be in one of its moods!Value for money!
