Fly to Brussels and get a car, it's easy to reach Antwerp by motorway E19. Remark for italian drivers: do not expect tons of indications from Brussels to Antwerp, it is not like in Italy :-) ... so pay a close attention as soon as you get out of the airport.
Bus service is good but you can also walk almost everywhere if you have enough time ... Theme: Airplane

I used only our own bus and walked so I can't tell you about this either.. But I wan't to mention that we had a few polices with us when we moved around the city by bus :D It was great! And we didn't have to stop in lights ;) Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

Antwerp has its own airport called Deurne which is served by some local airlines operating some short-haul flights within western Europe.
Although Brussels airport is only about 50 minutes away and there is a bus between the airport and Antwerp (the railway station) running every hour.
I tried the bus myself and it works perfectly well.

 Antwerp airport in the 60's by yashiko
VLM is the airline who flies from Antwerp to most of these destinations. Check their website for more information: www.flyvlm.com. The addvatage is that the airport is located only 5 km away from the center of the city. You can take a bus from the central station or the Rooseveltplaats (perron4) to the airport. It's line N11. It only takes about 15 minutes to get to the airport. Leave a Comment

A regional airport is located in the proximity of Antwerp centre, about 2 km. The main carrier which uses this airport is VLM Airlines and connects Antwerp with cities like London and Manchester. To cover the distance between the airport and the centre of Antwerp, you can rely on the bus (line 14) or a taxi (about €20). The duration of this trip is about 15 minutes.

From Amsterdam
The high speed train route between Antwerp and Paris now stops at Antwerp's central station (and not anymore at the Antwerp berchem station). You can also take a regular intercity train, which connects the Amsterdam Central Station to the Antwerp Central Station in about 2 hrs. The high speed train is currently not much faster but you can reserve seats. The trains also stop at the Schiphol National Airport. For schedules, see here :
