TREASURES BENEATH THE PLASTER....ST. JAMES' CHURCH

    by eden_teuling Updated Mar 21, 2004
    ST. JAMES' CHURCH...

SPECTACULAR FINDS IN THE ST. JAMES CHURCH.

Wall-paintin in the chapel of St. Job.
The decoration dates from about 1566 - 1580.

It show St. James surrounded by musicians.

This painting is being restored now....

This church is the tomb of the Prince of Painting, Peter Paul Rubens, that attracts most visitors. But there is so much more for this Church is sumptuously decorated.

    ST. CAROLUS BORROMEUS CHURCH ANTWERP

There lots of famous churches and a Cathedral in Antwerp, very worthy of your visit especially when you have a city guide.
    1. St. Carolus Borromeus Church

Rubens made a major contribution to the decoration of the facade and the pinnacle of the tower but especially to the interior.

Be sure to check out the medieval cathedral. It's probabely the most beautifull in the world. Everything is sort of centered around it so if you go there, everything worth seeing in the center is in walking distance.
