OK, so maybe the idea of serving vegetarian food is nice, but not on the VT meeting.
Tired and starving some of us arrived to the restaurant expecting to get a good, big meal. After walking around the city and drinking pint after pint after pint in the sun, food sounded like something we really needed.
But... once we looked at the menu, many of us started dreaming of french fries.
Usually, vegetarian restaurants offer some dishes that us "carnivorous" type can enjoy too, without even thinking about meat. For me it is usually the salmon, second favorite dish after the juicy steak.
Els (Mahieu) and I were happy to order the salmon. But... it wasn't even pink! It was white/green type that tasted like a freshcut grass and NOT fish!
A few minutes later Bradbrown's fish flew onto my plate as well. Apparently, he doesn't like fish! But at least this "flying fish" tasted better than my veggy salmon.
When I asked Els whether she thought the salmon was fresh, the restaurant owner overheard my comment, and from that moment on I was afraid to eat there :)
There I was, enjoying the company of many VTers and dreaming of McDonalds!
Later that evening, this "salmon" made me suffer a lot, but I won't get into the details.
However, our very vegan Kinga_Freespirit enjoyed her eggplant dish very much. So, not everybody left this place hungry.
Anyway, if all you enjoy to eat is healthy, grassy, green food you'll enjoy the place. But if you want some FOOD better go somewhere else.
Favorite Dish: Favorite dish???? You gotta be kidding!
Just have a look at the pictures on the website ,
and you know what kind of place this is.
This is a friend of mines favorite restaurant ,
it took me a few visits to find out that they only
have vegetables and fish on the menu...
And that is exactly how it is suppose to be.
The staff smiles , they got some special drinks
that you wont find easely in restaurants.
(aimé spiced water for instance). You will
immediately relax in this restaurant because
of the sober and stylish design. In summertime
they will have this fantastic garden...
They serve biological product as much as possible.
If you want to play safe then choose one of the
quiches , they are always delicious , served with
a salad. But if your not used to vegetarian food ,
maybe it is time to get to know something new.
Start with the samosa's , take a look at the
large suggestion board and go for it.
The dessert cakes and tartes just look irresistible.
The good news is , you can also take them out.
Great place to eat , great ambience !!! A nice garden for hot and sunny days and the food is lovely. Mostly vegetarian but they have some fish dishes.
Favorite Dish: I only had lunch (untill now but I go back!) but the falafel and the pasta with pesto were great. Nice wine-list!!
