Las Mañas: Las Mañas
There's no restaurant as Spanish in Antwerp than Las Mañas. The restaurant has been there as long as I remember and it's always full. This restaurant is genuine Spanish: crowded, noisy, with waiters rushing between the tables while guests enjoy typical Spanish dishes. On weekends guitarists play in the background.
Las Mañas is member of Les Routiers restaurants, which stands for good quality at a good price.
Favorite Dish: We were with a large party (30 people) and had a bit of everything. Some great tapas to start with (jamón iberico, calamares al ajillo, various cheeses, anchoas, chorizo, ...), followed by the best zarzuela and paella I ever had and a big yummie dessert with fresh exotic fruits, chocolate mousse, crema catalana, etc. D-e-l-i-c-i-o-i-u-s!
Las Manas: Buen Aproveche
Well if you enter Las Manas restaurante in Amberes (Antwerpen in Espanol), it is just as you enter a restaurant in Spain.
It is really crowded, noisy and the waiters look as they are balancing on a nervous breakdown. So a real typical spanish atmosphere.
It is not the most cosy place to eat, but I am certain this is one of the best restaurants for Spanish food in the region.
If you decide to go there (especially in the weekend), it is better you first call for making a reservation.
Favorite Dish: To start of course a Fino Sherry or a glass of deliscious Sangria with a plate of Tapas, like Manchego Cheese and some Serrano ham.
Deliscious plates are the Paella, the Zarzuela and the Rabit plate which is a bit spicy.
And for dessert a fine cake covered with whiskey.
