    Sensunik: Kids allowed

by HendrikIV Updated Apr 11, 2005

This restaurant comes with a babysit-team, separate play- and diningroom and special menu's to entertain your kids, while you're enjoying your refound freedom. Alas ! Our kids were afraid to be left alone, so we ended up eating together nervously watching the kids and cleaning up the spills. (nervous, mainly because all the other couples came there to enjoy an evening without kids)
The idea sounds good, but in reality, even when the kids eat and play on their own, it does not compare with a real 4-eyes-evening and the resulting atmosphere felt a bit awkwards.
The food was allright but did lack inspiration. Next time we want/need to take the kids out, we'll head for a normal, childfriendly place.

Sensunik: For parents , for everybody!

If you got children then this might just be the
perfect restaurant for you , but if you don't have
children , you should keep on reading too. ;-)

The owner of this place got inspired by
burger restaurants. They got this play area for
children. But mum and dad still have to eat
burgers. He decided to do something about
that. So , ground floor is for everybody and
upstairs there is a restaurant for the children
and a play-area. They will love it.

The interior of the restaurant if very clean and
stylish. Nothing cold and modern , but warm ,
a lot of wood and a nice leather bank against
the wall. (If I had a handbag large enough I
would for sure pull the central heating
radiator from the wall , they are so beautiful)

    Favorite Dish:

Let's talk about the food. I started with a very
nice salad 'lyonnais' with bacon and a divine
cream sauce , my dinner mate chose the
grey shrimp croquette. Like you can only eat
    them home made in Belgium.

As main dish we both got into the sweet and
sour porc ribs with excellent fries. And we
finished with Tiramisu and creme brulee.

All of excellent quality for a very fair price.
Especially the service is excellent here
They ask frequently if everything is fine , if
you wish to have something else....

And if you got kids , you can watch them on
the monitors above the counter. After all a
    mum stays a mum.

They got some extra features worth mentioning...
if you arrive between 5 and six you can
choose an 'early bird' dish. Ribs , spaghetti
or an asian dish for less then 5 euro.

They also got a fine offer of coffees and
    sigars. (I'm glad nobody was smoking..I don't
    like the smell of cigars).

Sensunik: A haven for kids (and their parents)

Sensunik is a restaurant which is the ideal solution for people who want to take their children out to diner. This restaurant has a separate floor just for the little ones. They have their own dining room and playroom up on the second floor. Their parents can go check up on them or just watch over the video surveillance unit, while they enjoy their meal on the ground floor (smokers) or first floor (non smokers). The kids meals are adapted to their taste, whilst the adults can enjoy a array of delicious "grown up" dishes, in congenial surroundings.

Favorite Dish: I have no special dish that I prefer since all of them are equally delicious.
Specialty: between 5 and 7 PM "Early Birds" can eat for 4,95 € from Mondays through Thursdays . Choice from three dishes (Asian tapasdish– Spaghetti Bolognaise – Salade with smoked chicken)
