The first meeting Aadil had in Belgium, late September 2002. He arrived at 7 pm after visiting Bruges, Gent and Brussels. Fortunately and rather unexpected our dear friend Chiara (Pollon) from Italy was visiting too. During the day she was taken care by Helga (Helga67), in the evening she was going to Oostende to visit Patricia (Funkymama).
We were all hungry but wanted to eat something light that would also give us the opportunity to chit chat and socialise.
The Tapa bar at the Pelgrimstraat was a nice spot for this.
The place can be really crowded on weekend days so to insure you a chair, make some reservations first.
We got lucky as we didn’t had any reservation taken but were allowed to stay as long as we promised we would not stay longer then 9 pm.
That was alright as Chiara had to catch her train to Oostende.
We sat close to the little stage and on certain moments you will enjoy some life show.
That is if you are not annoyed about the load volume.
It will make any conversation nearby impossible.
Also make sure you don’t sit too close… it is hot inside and with all that physical exercise of dancing the dancers do sweat and once I saw with a brisk movement of the heat some sweat drops flying over the table just next to the stage.
Bon apetit!

Sometimes they open op a nice (more quiet) room next to this one. But then you will miss the shows. It is all what you prefer and you can ask when taking reservations.

Favorite Dish: We took a mixed small tapabar...
lucky we didn't chose a big one!
You can have cheap meals too, but if for dinner, this mixed combination is the best.

I do think that the variety of tapa's is not that big and some tastes are the same in different tapa's (e.g. something with tomatoe sauce will taste similar).
So after several visits to this restaurant, I had the idea to move on and try out others.

For a 1 time visit it is recomendable.
You can have dishes starting from 11-20 euro's but for the biggest tapa menu or a complete mail you pay a little more, upto 30 Euro's.

The interior is nice and you will think you are in the Meditarenian !

Restaurant is opened daily except Tuesdays.
Visa cards are accepted
