One thing I love about Europe are the bakeries! It doesn’t matter what they make – it is always good. During a break from looking at architecture of the Grote Markt, we stopped into one of the local bakeries for a snack. I love the presentation in the windows – always so inviting and always so delicious. It is best to go early in the day for the best selection and freshness. Many also serve coffee or tea and have a place for you to eat inside or out in front.
Bierwinkel Den Dorstvlegel is small but filled from top to bottom with beer (mostly Belgian of course) and beer related things. Beers include almost all Belgian classics and several hard to find rarities. Also lots of glasses, gift sets, books etc.. Any beerlover will want to visit this place, die-hards will have to.
You can find all kinds of things from several asian countries such as China, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, and India. They have a wide variety of fresh Asian fruits and vegetables, Chinese and Japanese clothing, kitchenware, gadgets, dvd’s and decorations This store is the largest you may find in Antwerp's China Town and divided into different departments with two levels. My favorite department is the Japanese. I can find all the ingredients for making sushi and they have my favorite bathsalts.
Opening hours: Mon - Sat: 9.00 - 18.30
'De vagant' is one of Antwerp finest shops.
That has nothing to do with the decoration in
the shop but everything with what they sell.
Belgium is not only a country that is blessed
with all these kinds of beer but also a lot of
other alcoholic drinks are produced in small
family runned breweries. (stokerijen).
Now , de vagant is a café. One of those cozy
brown pubs where you can taste a lot of 'jenevers'.
But I don't like those very much...I'll go for the
cordials and the elixir's. The nice thing is that
if you like the drink you can buy it in the store
at the other side of the street. 400 Belgian
brewed drinks are on display.
Now isn't that a great tip for a souvenir
(for yourself as well?) The nice thing is they
also got some choice in miniatures!
Great for collectors and to try some at home.
Nice and cozy Asian market!!!
I liked there so much.
It was well displayed and nicely decorated.
Specially Japanese section, hehehe
