Beware of the jewellery stores situated under Central Station along the Pelikaanstraat. Not all shops are kosher. Prices may look interesting but if you are not an expert you might pay what you think a reasonable price for 18kt gold and go home with less.

In the area around the central station, especially at the diamond neighbourhood, are a lot of shops with golden watches, gold chains and other jewelled things. Think twice before you buy something there. I do not mean that all shops over there are corrupting, but think about that not all things that are shining its gold!
