No, Vinnie had a 3-month stint there. Three months don't make as if Vincent Van Gogh was educated at Royal academy of Fine arts.
Van Gogh was reported to have not fit to the teaching methods within Antwerp academy... so that he only spent there a few months.
The plaque is hanging on the wall, at the entry of the academy.

The story about how Antwerp got its name is not true. I don't know why this tale is being told so widely - perhaps because it's simply more attractive than the truth :-) So, no hand throwing in the famous name of Ant-werpen, but rather a bend in the river.
