The Kalmthoutse Heide is best reached by car. There is a large parking place in front of the entrance.
Coming from Antwerp, follow Highway A12, direction Bergen Op Zoom/Rotterdam (NL), take exit 13 (Stabroek), turn right and follow the main road for approximately 9 kms. You have to pass 3 traffic lights. The parking place in on your right, the entrance on your left.

Kalmthout lies about 25 km north of Antwerp city, close to the Dutch border. The 'Kalmthoutse Heide' (heath of Kalmthout) is a 1800 ha big nature reserve with pinewoods, moor, fens and landdune.

This 1,800 acre preserve features a varied terrain, with pine forest, marsh, sand dunes, and moors. There are lots of footpaths for adventurous hikers.
