Kalmthoutse Heide

The moor is very dry. During summertime, the risk of fire is big. Always be careful with sigarets and other stuff.
If there is some danger for fire, an orange or red flag with explanation will be present at the entrance of the nature reserve.

 Kalmthout lies about 25 km north of Antwerp city, close to the Dutch border. The 'Kalmthoutse Heide' (heath of Kalmthout) is a 1800 ha big nature reserve with pinewoods, moor, fens and landdune.

 This 1,800 acre preserve features a varied terrain, with pine forest, marsh, sand dunes, and moors. There are lots of footpaths for adventurous hikers.
