Lier:"Souvenirs" from the Wars
Even if this is not as current as in of other places in Belgium (West-Flanders) it happen that shells date back to the surface at the time of works of garbage collections, or of works of the fields.
At the time of this discovery kind, the shells are deposited in road edge, while waiting for to be collected by the services of deminors. Some are still dangerous!
It is therefore prudent of not to touch them and of not especially to leave to play the children with this things kind!
---oooOOOooo---

The entire city centre of Lier is tiled with tiles, pebbles, ...
They want that the sidewalks and the roads look as authentic as possible. Which is a nice thing to do, it brings a cosy athmosphere in the city... but... when it rains (and it rains a lot) those materials can get really slippery.
Just watch out!

... but we sure see you! This tunnel is under permanent supervision!
That is what is written at this sign.
It is hanging at a pedestrian tunnel that connects the free parking space at the other side of the train station and the other side.
It gives you a little security feeling eh? `-)
