't Koetshuis is located on the grounds of the Ravenhof, surrounded by a lovely forest 'Moretusbos'. The building used to be the coach house of the castle, hence the name.
They are open from 10 a.m. until late at night. You can just have a drink and/or a little snack on the terrace after your walk in the forest, or you can come at night for a fine meal.
This brasserie-restaurant is beautifully located in the Moretusbos, a forest on the Belgian/Dutch border. Originally the 'Koetshuis' was the coach house of the castle Ravenhof.
You're welcome here for a full meal, but also for just a drink or afternoon coffee.
The food was very good, and attractively dressed on the plates. Very friendly service.
In the summer you can eat on their terrace.
Favorite Dish: What we ate:
starter: tiger shrimps with spicy Nantua sauce
main: fillet of pork with stir-fried veggies and gratin dauphinois
dessert: chocolate cake (which was really delicious).
We dined here with the "Two 4 One" formula, which means that we only paid 29 euro FOR TWO (drinks not included). This price really can't be beat.
Brandnew, IMO not yet fully operational (visited for lunch Nov. 24, 2005).
Trendy bar-brasserie, young atmosphere, coldish with nothing (yet) on the walls. Long benches on both sides of the narrow dining room and uncomfy chairs (without back rest) at the really small bistro tables. Colours of the interior are rather dark gray and reddish.
Open for lunch and dinner. After dinner it's a cocktail/lounge bar with DJ's playing on weekend nights.
Closed on Monday and Tuesday
Wednesday to Friday: from 11 am
Saturday and Sunday: from 10 am
... until the wee hours ...
Favorite Dish: The new "fast" food: soups, various 'wok' dishes (with chicken, meat or fish) and a few dishes on the suggestions menu.
My partner had "wok salmon" which was a few chunks of grilled salmon with stir fried veggies and noodles. I had "wok chicken" which was the same but with chunks of chicken instead. Quality was good, unfortunately it both tasted almost the same!
It's OK for a quick lunch. Not for a cozy dinner, though. The chairs alone won't let me sit there for more than an hour!
This used to be a real farm.
The farm was loosing land because the enlargement
of the harbor. Thats why the grandfather of the owner
started a restaurant years ago.
Every year they restore and redecorate...
A little bit artificial maybe , but with a nice atmosphere.
A popular place for bankets and weddings.
Very friendly and correct service.
Favorite Dish: It are all classical dishes...
A 5-way menu with wine , drinks , coffee for 58 euro..
.a 3-way 39,95 euro.
