    I heard that the bloemekensgang offers very beautiful shops too. In fact, the bloemekensgang is a nice spot in Turnhout. I know there are some shops and pubs. I preferred the pubs ;-)
    The only shop I went in there was in a flower shop...

    Shopping in Turnhout is the same as shopping is other cities of Belgium. The Gasthuisstraat, better know by the residents as Hollandstreet, is the place to be for shopping. In fact, they can call all shopping streets in Belgium Hollandstreet because more then 70 percent of the shops are from Holland companies.
    What you can buy there? Well, the usual stuff I guess. I don’t like shopping...

    The only shopping I like, or better say, looking around is every Sunday morning on the bric-a-brac market at the castle square.
    Combined with a Duvel (strong Belgium beer) in the bar of the Warande and nose around on the bric-a-brac market, my Sunday can’t break anymore...

    From the back of the church across the street there is a small alley leading away in between a few shops. This is the "Bloemekes gang" or flower's corridor. This charming little gallery houses few of the nicest shops in Turnhout and is also just nice to walk through. It has a very own atmosphere and adds to the shopping pleasures in the Kempen capitol.

    Turnhout is still the regional centre if it's about shopping. Also Dutch from just over the border see Turnhout as a nice place to go shopping in. The main shoppingstreet leads away from the Market Square (Grote Markt) and is called the Gasthuisstraat. Fashion shops like Zara, H&M, C&A, We are here, but in the roads near it are also intresting boutiques, that you don't find everywhere, like Stad Turnhout Kleding, Cecile and Basiel.
