The baroque church (1665) and the chapel of the Holy Countenance (end of 19th century) are worth a visit. Also the Beguinage is a real little jewel and exhibits everything with had to do with the life, work and worship over the course of time of the Beguines and the convent. After your visit to the Chapel Theobaldus, walk back into the Paterstraat and stay going till you see on your right, the Korte Begijnenstraat. If you end this little street you will see in front of you the Beguinage. Turnhout possesses one of the most beautiful and most sober Beguine convents in Belgium. It was built in the 12th century. Over the course of the years, the convent experienced some very flourishing times; then hundreds of Beguines lived here. Through the centuries the convent was ravaged several times by fire, plundering, plague and other scourges...

Cross this corner in the front you come into the Stationstraat, the Statiestraat as people are use to say here. Walk trough the end to see the train station. The 105-year-old neo-gothic station looks very nice following the restoration of the roof, the façade and the waiting room.
