Turnhout is along the border of The Netherlands in the Mid North of Belgium (Kempen). By car one reaches this area fastest and this means of transort also gives you the freedom in getting around easier. The E34 (in Belgium A21 in The Netherlands A67) is passing the ring of Turnhout just halfway Eindhoven to Antwerpen (or vice versa). A map will guide you (see picture)
Turnhout is connected into the Belgian railway system (the second oldest in Europe after Britain, if I might add!). The station is in walking distance of the Gasthuisstraat and the Grote Markt, East of the centre. It connects Turnhout towards Antwerpen in a dead end construction.
Getting to and around Trunhout can be done by the busses from "De Lijn". This is the mayor Flanders public bus transport service and they offers services between Turnhout and the nearby smaller villages and towns. The busses all look like the one in the picture and have as central point the Market Square.
