This is the bar/restaurant attached to the Hoegaarden brewery. Once owned by the brewery it is now independently owned and operated.
It specialises in beer cuisine - cookery making use of beers, and especially those of Hoegaarden.
Favorite Dish: We didn't have a full meal here, but Caro persusaded me (and believe me I didn't need much persuading) to have their Sabayon (zabaione), made not with Marsala as is normal, but with the Verboten Vrucht beer - the strongest beer from the Hoegaarden brewry.
Well, I have to say that this was simply delicious!
Favorite Dish: Susan decided on Cherry Pancakes. These were simply beautiful, and were "real" pancakes, as we English like them - not the thin crepes so popular on the continent. Wonderful.
Favorite Dish: Susan and I both took the "Vegetarian Spaghetti". It was without doubt the best and tastiest spaghetti dish I ever had. Simply wonderful.
Superb Italian Restaurant. The exterior is well worth a close look, with it's murals at the upper floor.
Favorite Dish: See the next tip for a bit more about the restaurant...
