Waiting for them to catch something and then they would get the fish.Now there are many many more of them. They breed...

 Maeve_81 Says:  Directions where to go, are all over the park, but you can buy yourself a guide for 3 euro, that includes a map, some information about the animals and a few games for children.Although Planckendael has got a panda in their logo... the symbol of the park is the white...

 belgianchocolate Says:  Planckendael was bought in 1956 by the royal society for zoology antwerp.Only the last years it has developed into a complete zoo.The great advantage is that it is spacious , 40 hectares , that makes it 4 times bigger then the Antwer zoo. The highlights - a 3000 square...

 belgianchocolate Says:  Since Planckendael is very spacious it has great opportunity to show a lot of large animals like deer , antiloop , bovine , banteng , lama....a wonderful collection.The nice thing is the parc is divided in different parts...and each part has animals from one continent.

 belgianchocolate Says:  The animal parc has got a special breeding program for this animals...and that is necessary since there are only 1700 animals left (and thats an optimistic figure). There are just 9 protected areas where the rhinos live in India and Nepal.They can be 2 meters high and weight...

Restaurant White Stork - Planckendael

You've got the choice of several shops/take-a-ways who serve fries, burgers and sandwiches.
The 'real' restaurant is the White Stork, at the main entrance of the park.

How do we get there?

To reach Planckendael, you can take the

* car
On the highway E19 Antwerp-Brussels, take exit 11 'Hofstade'. Follow to signs.
Planckendael has a large parking for 4 euro.

* train
Take the train to Mechelen. Than you can take the bus (front of the trainstation busses nr. 284/285) or the boat (back of the trainstation - every 30 minutes - daily (july+august) or the weekends (april, may, june, september)
Ask for B-daytrips when buying a train ticket!
