In addition to the many "closed" aquariums, there is also a wonderful "touch tank", a place where you can literately touch some species of fish like the ray
Furthermore you will find scientific displays, a few outdoor play areas for children, a cafeteria.
(BTW the only warm food is a super large hot dog with ketchup, cost € 3 - haha)
During feeding time of the animals (Otters, seals, sea lions and pinguins you will get some animated explanation and questions like :

The Eurasian Otter is the only species found in Europe and its population is very depleted. In some western countries it has become extinct.
Classic question : a seal, is it living at the north- or southpole. Yes you are partially right - the southpole - but in fact you will find seals at the southern atmosphere. I saw some species in South Africa, some in Argentina and of course the Galagapos. For this reason, don't be surprised to find seals in an area where palmtrees are growing aswell. Aquariums have come a long way since the first SEA LIFE centre opened its doors on the banks of picturesque Loch Creran in the West Highlands of Scotland in 1979.
The Sea Life Centre in Blankenberge was founded in 1998 and it's main goal is to save sick seals stranded on the belgian coast. Last year 230 seals were saved. The cost for surgery per animal is € 2500 and in this sense an entrance price of € 15.50 is acceptable, having in mind that you help the Centre and the seals.

On the Western side of the beach is the yacht-harbour. This large basin used to be the fisher harbor of Blankenberge.
