In a country where service is included in most bills, tipping is not a problem. Most people will not expect a tip. Possible exceptions are public toilets, where the attendant may expect a tip of 25 cents or so, and porter and maid service in the more expensive hotels.

The citizens of Bruges and Ghent are open, friendly and patient. Most will say that they speak only a little English, then go on to speak it fluently. However do not assume that everyone will speak English.
