De Amand: Lunch with a Twist
This is a really friendly bistro right in the centre of town. The proprietors like to be a little different and the most western of food can be served in ways that are definitely a little different. It's not a restaurant that specialises in Flemish cuisine but there is a wide selection of fish. In this restaurant you will get large portions of delicious food no matter what you order, at least that was the impression I got from peeking at other diners plates and observing their reactions It's quite small so the ambience is more intimate than a lot of restaurants in Bruges. Definitely worth a visit.
Favorite Dish: Definitely the steak, served with a divine pepper sauce.

De Amand: litle cosy restaurant for lovers
Not so far from the market, in the Sint Amandstraat you will find this little restaurant.
It is run by An Vissers and Arnout Beyaert.
We had a steack au poivre, a swordfish with wok vegetables and an assortiment of fish.
A soda drink, half bottle of white wine and a cup of coffee.
All was 61 euro, so not too expensive.
Favorite Dish: My daughter insisted on going to this restaurant because she wanted to taste the sword fish again.
well I don't know if that is the right English name of this fish, but translated from the Dutch it sounds like this :-)
De Amand: Friendly staff and good food
This is a very small and cozy restaurant, off the Market Square, with good food, OK price, and excellent service. The owners are a young couple, who are really friendly.
I´ve been to Bruges several times and in each visit I go to this restaurant, it was recommended to me by the girl running the B&B I stayed at the first time I visited Bruges back in the year 2000 (Hotel Van Eyck). I found the food to be better and cheaper than in the restaurants in the Market Square. Expect to spend around 60 euro for two people, including main course, dessert and a glass of wine or beer each.
I would definitely recommend it :)
Favorite Dish: I can´t remember the name, but the dish I like is pasta with chicken, with a cream sauce; and for dessert either crème brulèe or a dish with mini chocolate desserts, that way you can sample all of them!
