’t Manneke uit de Mane (the man in the moon) is the almanac for Flanders since 1881. The first World War stopped the publishing of the books. And after the war there were not enough people to start again.
It took several people and several attempts but eventually it resurfaced. It became very populair and on the marketsquare in Diksmuide you can find a statue of the man in the moon.
Favorite thing: At the Markt you can still see that Diksmuide is in a rural area. Farmers sell their goods on saturdays. You can buy potatoes, vegetables or fruit here.
