Apropos B&B: Apropos B&B, Koksijde

myriam_c Says:  Apropos isn't your usual bed & breakfast. It's a combination of art, gastronomy and guest rooms. It's small, charming and luxury. Apropos has only 3 rooms that are nicely decorated in darkbown, greyish and cream. The fine bed linen as well as the bath linen have embroided...

Loxley Cottage is a very pretty tea-room. They also serve light lunches like quiches, shrimp croquettes, moussaka, ... and a wide selection of afternoon goodies of course (cakes, ice cream, ...).
They also specialize in coffee from all over the world.

Favorite Dish: I had their delicious shrimp croquettes with a glass of white wine.
My husband ordered moussaka.
We both tasted one of their special coffees after lunch: "Blue Tawar" from Java for me ; "Lago Azul" for my husband. Both at 4 euro per cup, which I thought was a bit pricey.

Apropos is an excellent gastronomic restaurant.
It's a 'house style' restaurant with a limited number of tables.
Service is impeccable.
French-Mediterranean cuisine.

Favorite Dish: Our dinner:
aperitif with amuse-bouche: mince of tiger-prawn & artichoke with anchovy cream.
first course: consomm? c?lestine
'intermediate? course: chopped lobster with a slice of baked foie gras on top
main course: filet pur with various veggies (chicory, green asparagus and a mixed veggie pie) with b?arnaise sauce and hand-sliced French fries
dessert: a delicious soft meringue cake with vanilla ice cream and slices of roasted orange

It was excellent!

Playing children

Playing in the sand seems always fun for children, even on a cold (12 deg C) but SUNNY day in February ... Packed in a wintercoat, with cap and warm gloves!
