    Crocodile Pharmacy.

It is well known that Belgium is the capital of surrealism not only in art but also in politics and even daily life. Nevertheless a drugstore called "Crocodile" is not so common.

As the place was closed I couldn't ask the origin of the name.

    Westvletern Trappist Beer, Kortrijk, Belgium

Once again wherever we found ourselves you could have beer either produced locally or with a local theme. Westvlerten is one of the trappist beers. Please take a look at the website attached here, they explain much better than I ever could.

When you are in Ypres, you also should visit 'In Flanders Fields' Museum, with eye-witness accounts of the Great War ('14-'18).

    Location:
    Cloth Hall, Market Square, Ypres

    In Flanders Fields

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders Fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders Fields.
    John McCrae, 2/3 May 1915

If you want to taste some culture, this is the place to be : the City Theatre. The theatre has been restaurated and re-decorated a few months ago.
