In one of the corners of the market place in Lichtervelde lies the bar "Den Gouden Appel", or short "Den Appel". It is famous in the whole area of central West-Flanders. They give whisky's, Irish coffees, etc that are double the size of elsewhere at half the price of elsewhere. And at any time of the evening or night you can order a good spaghetti or croque monsieur. And the atmosphere is always really pleasant.
