We went here for a business diner and our host ordered a whole seafood menu. Normally I'm a meat addict so I was very curious about this dinner!
Just a few persons are able to let me take fish for main course, but Le Grillon convinced me to also take some seafood for a change.
Excellent adress for seafood! Great ambiance and very friendly people! Mr. Willy Verdonck the restaurant owner knows how to spoil a guest.

The waiters are friendly and the food of the brasserie is prepared by the same chef of the gastronomic restaurant Gloria in the same building. In summertime you can eat outside in open air.

Open every day as of 5pm (even when all the other restaurants are closed), close to the pubs and cafes. Located in a small street, very discrete. Always very clean, nice lamps on the ceiling. They have this delicious pita Shoarma, and the taboule is excellent ! They love children (they have at least 3 kids...). I've been there many many times ! Don't miss it !

a new place centre town, Borsalino. The menu is in Italian and the staff speak italian and french, their dutch isn't so good, not yet, and i don't think their english is very good but the food is delicious and cheap, 9euro for a trio of pasta.

as we were only in ostend for 3 days we asked the manager of our hotel for somewere good to eat.he recomended a local reataurant called BISTRO PANAME.it is one of the best in OSTEND
(we think), the young couple who own the bistro made us very welcome.there is a very good choice of menu

The purpose is to print a specially designed work of 12 prominent artists linked to the city of Oostende on a plate.
When booking the 'artist menu', the guest can take the plate after dinner.

The only thing that you have to have is some patience because it is always well crowded (or you have to come early).
You can eat tagliatelli's, pizzas, lasagnas and also steak-frites,...wide choice.
Don't forget to watch the board with the suggestion of the day.
Vispannetje with french fries is very good, also the Lasagna (vegeterian or Bolognese) are great.
It is not a real restaurant,nor a café,it's called a 'taverne' here in Belgium. It's a sort of between restaurant and café.
Everybody used to be satified, but now there are rumors, and some friends also experienced less quality (like Garnaalkroketten not filled! and less taste in the food in general)
Favorite Dish: The tagliatelli Funghi or Seafood are my favorites...large plates well garnished with lots of mushrooms & fresh parmezan (Funghi) or if you take the Seafood tagliatelli, it is well garnished with seashells, and other great seafood.
Also a new discovery is the Scampi 'Zeezotje'. A plate with delicious scampi's in a superb spicey sauce with spicy french fries! Try it,it's great!!!
This is a very popular place were you can eat very good for 'okay prices'... You can find mainly local people here but because it's very good location you also see tourists there! I think this place is specialised in pasta, but you can eat much more here and everything is fresh (and I can know cos a good mate of me works in the kitchen :) ).
When you wouldn't feel hungry... it's also a nice place to have a drink!
Well, this isn't exactly a restaurant, but along the Vissers Kaai, I stopped at one of the tent-like stalls and bought some fish stew. All of the stalls sell it, so I just decided to choose one. When I walked up to the lady who was dishing it up, I asked what it was and she said, "Fish stew. Do you like spicy or no spicy." So, I decided to order the one with a little kick to it.
For 1.50 Euros, it was worth trying, but I have to be honest and say that it wasn't that great. There were big chunks of, well, I'm not sure what they were, but I'll describe them as rubbery slugs of some kind. I'll eat anything and the taste wasn't bad, but my jaw was tired after trying to chew these suckers for about ten minutes and I didn't even finish it.
Next time, I'll order something else. There were all sorts of more recongnizable and scrumptious looking things on sale here.

You can eat inside or take-away. Sometimes people wait almost till outside the pittabar, cause it has so much succes. A must for a fast take away snack!

A superb bistro in the centre of oostende. Great food, friendly service. Only one thing call and make a reservation, it's a small but popular place !!! Kitchen is open from 12 till 22u30. The speciality is the Steak Tartaar, which is made at your table by Luc the chef.

You can find all kinds of dishes here: mussels, shrimp croquettes, brochettes, pasta, ...: all very well prepared in large portions.
The service is polite and friendly. The restaurant has a nice interior, especially the upper part.
