Where did my souvenirs go? Oh, that’s right I ate them. Now if a store is going to specialize, this is the way to do it… garish lighting and hundreds of bins of sugar treats. If they run out of your favorite treat, there’s a second Candy Shop close by at Vlaanderenstraat 7.
Ladies. Is there really a need for a store devoted solely to perfume? Apparently there is, because this shop was doing a solid business late on a weekday. If you don’t make it to Oostende, don’t fret. Planet Parfum is a chain with many outlets across Belgium, particularly in Brussels.
This is a funky hairdresser in the middle of oostende, good music, nice interiour, relax atmosphere,... not to expensive. You don't have to make an appointment.
Ansel is a cool chick, she won't push you to do anything you're not sure about.

All big departement stores (H&M, Hema, Inno, Naf Naf, C&A, Body Shop, Free Record Shop,.......) are in Kapellestraat and Adolf Buylstraat. But don't forget the little streets around, Christinastraat, Louisastraat.
The Alfons Pieterslaan, right in front of the station, also has a lot of shops like GB (supermarket), clothing shopes, and the best skate-snow and surf shop in town Steve's Skate Shop.
This is one of the newest shops in Ostend with women/men clothes for the generation of 16-36 (or for anyone who feels younger ;)
It has very modern brands like GSUS industries, AEM'KEI, .... It's a sort of funky/extravagant shop.
What to buy: Tops, sunglasses, swimwear, pants, shoes, nightlife clothes, skate-stuff,... lots of choice, worth a visit.
This store was great. Run by a funny British lady and crammed full of cool toys, games and action figures. I snagged a Run DMC action figure and a small hand painted statue of Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas. Go check it out!
What to pay: $20-$100
For shopping there is the Kappellestraat, Adolf Buylstraat, Witte Nonnestraat (which are all traffic-free). There is also the Alfons Pieterslaan and the Torhoutsesteenweg, where you can shop the whole year through.
