Get there by train and you arrive at Roeselare station. It is a bit outside of the city. But you can take a bus from there.
The train is only one line, from Kortrijk to Brugge. So there are two directions to choose from Brugge or Kortrijk. Ofcourse you can travel from there to other cities in Belgium.
