Wenduine Things to Do

At the end of the promenade (on the west side) is a lovely big square. While you relax on one of the many benches, your kids can leisurely ride their go-cart.
Or watch the anglers cathing some north sea fish.

This is the view you get from the Spioenkop.
A beautiful, eleven km, fine sandy beach is stretching from Wenduine to De Haan, and bordered by dunes and the only green forest along the Belgian Coast.

This funny little house is the landmark of Wenduine. De "Spioenkop" is located on the second highest dune of the Belgian coast (31 m). Climb to the top and enjoy a magnificent view over woods, dunes and sea.

The 'Kusttram' (coastal tram) brings you from every other coast city to "Wenduine". There's only one line along the entire coast.
Wenduine is part of the beautiful coastal town of De Haan and is situated between Oostende and Zeebrugge.

When you come by car, take the highway towards Oostende. From there follow the N34 to the East.

Are you wondering what those lovely beach cabins are for?

If you're staying at the coast for a longer period, you can rent a beach cabin. It's comfortable to put away all your things that you need on the beach (deck chairs, parasols, beach stuff for the kids ...) so you don't need to take everything home at night. You can leave it in the cabin.
A second advantage is that you always have some space on the beach because the beach in front of the cabin (about 4m) belongs to you as long as you rent the cabin. No one else can put his stuff there.

Between Wenduine and De Haan, the wooded state dunes are great for walking. In these woods with mainly pine-trees, some paths have been laid out for the walkers. We did the "Duinbossen" walking path, which leads you all the way to De haan. It's about 7 km.
