Salon Monet: Indulge yourself with treats

by shavy Written Oct 19, 2014

The tea room is on the seawall, the exterior attracts me which has a nice entrance. There was not much open, the season is done and most hospitality industry is really quiet now and some of them were closed for the season and open again when the school holiday

This tea room only serve coffee, tea, ice cream or any other kind of dessert. I found this a bit too fancy as an ordinary tea room. The name came from the famous art of Monet. Well, indeed has the similarity. Once you stood on the entrance you're be welcomed by the beautiful painting. This painting will treat you in a special atmosphere

The owner were very friendly, we were the only customer that time. In the list they have extensive choice of coffee, tea just named it. I took their weathered coffee which I was satisfied. I got a slice cake, small bowl whipped cream and another small bowl of sugar candy

The woman who serve us was very friendly, I think the owner itself, service was very fast probably because we were alone. It is the first I came inside so, I don't know how it is here when during season

    Brasserie Nelson: Brasserie Nelson

    by myriam_c Written Sep 6, 2006

Don't Miss The Fresh Seafood! That's very to the subject at the Nelson 'cause they're specialized in fresh fish and seafood! Well, that's quite obvious when you're located next to the fish mine.
We came here by accident. Wanted to eat at Slabbinck but Wednesday is unfortunately their closing day.

Favorite Dish: We both had the Northsea Fish Soup with toast and rouille for starters. It was good, with quite some chunks of fish in it. Unfortunately it was only a small plate ... at 11 euro a bit expensive!
My husband ordered mussels 'nature' (genuine Zeeland mussels). They were still very small (although we're in September already) but they tasted good.
I had cod fillet with tartar sauce.
The French fries in this restaurant are hand cut and fresh. A pro!
We ate well but it was somewhat too expensive. The Nelson is only a brasserie from which one might expect more economical prices.
