    Relive History

Favorite thing: Taking a bus ride to Waterloo was one of the highlights of my Brussels visit. Passing through the busy shopping districts and going into the countryside, passing by pretty little villages, bars and cafes made the ride enjoyable. And the fields near the Waterloo monument are unbelievable. It's so difficult to believe that a bloody battle was ever fought in this serene and peaceful place! However the monument itself is a little disappointing...you kind of expect something more...perhaps, larger than life?

    Fondest memory:
A huge stone lion looks out over the plains where Napoleon was defeated and European history changed course at the Battle of Waterloo.
